Ciudad Quesada Area Guide

Ciudad Quesada is an urbanisation located in the South Costa Blanca, only 30 minutes from Alicante airport and Corvera airport, and 15 minutes from the bustling town of Torrevieja. La Zenia has excellent road links with close access to the AP7 motorway and the national road, N332 which runs from Valencia to Almeria, this is the Spanish equivalent of Route 66.

Ciudad Quesada is part of the municipality of Rojales which was created by a Spanish entrepreneur, Justo Quesada Samper, who wanted to create his own town. Ciudad Quesada is around 8KM inland from Guardamar de la Segura and is partially surrounded by the lagoon of La Mata, which is known for its biodiversity covering some 700 hectares. Within Ciudad Quesada you can find areas such as Pueblo Lucero, Doña Pepa, Pueblo Bravo and Lo Pepín.

Ciudad Quesada has a wealth of  facilities on its doorstep as follows;

Golf Courses: Ciudad Quesada / Rojales has its own golf course, La Marquesa Golf Course, founded in 1989 by one of the city's founders, Mr. Justo Quesada and is renowned for being home to one of the most impressive driving ranges in Spain.

Shopping: The Zenia Boulevard, which opened in 2012, is an open-air shopping center with over 150 shops, the link below provides all the information you need on opening times, restaurants, and shops.
 
Entertainment: There is something for every taste and age group in Ciudad Quesada, including an Aqua Park which was opened over 30 years ago, it is Spain's second-largest water park, covering an area of 21,000 square meters, it is open from May to the end of September. There are also a variety of bars, restaurants, shops, and supermarkets, along with several banks, dental clinics, pharmacies, hair salons, newsagents, and tobacconists. Quesada also is home to a lawn bowling club, 

Beaches: Only 8KM away are the beaches of Guardamar de la Segura, though you are also close to the beaches of the Orihuela Costa and Torrevieja. 

Supermarkets: Consum has two Supermarkets in Quesada, and it is a short distance to other large supermarkets, e.g. Mercadonna.

Climate: The Costa Blanca enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, with cool sea breezes in summer and protection by surrounding mountains against the cold north winds in winter. The area averages nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine each year and the average temperature exceeds 20 degrees.
 
In 1986 the World Health Organisation recommended the climate of the areas as one of the most equitable in the world, not too hot in the summer, nor cold in the winter. The area boasts an average of 325 days of sunshine each year, making it an all-year-round destination.
