La Zenia Guide

La Zenia is a small coastal urbanisation located on the South Costa Blanca, only 30 minutes from Alicante airport and Corvera airport, and 15 minutes from the bustling town of Torrevieja. La Zenia has excellent road links with close access to the AP7 motorway and the national road, N332 which runs from Valencia to Almeria, this is the Spanish equivalent of Route 66.
 
La Zenia has a wealth of facilities on its doorstep as follows;
 
Golf Courses: Three championship golf courses all within a 10-minute drive, including Villamartin, the frequent venue for the Mediterranean Open, the Campoamor golf course, and Las Ramblas. 
 
Shopping: The Zenia Boulevard, opened in 2012, is an open-air shopping center with over 150 shops, the link below provides all the information you need on opening times, restaurants and shops.
 
Beaches : La Zenia is also home to two of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca, Cala Bosque, and Cala Cerrada. 
 
Property: La Zenia has just 1.9km2 of premium beachfront real estate, which is home to large detached properties, whereas the further you are from the coast you can find newer style properties for sale in La Zenia
 
Entertainment: There is something for every taste and age group in La Zenia, from Bowling, Restaurants, and bars, Golf and a leisure center, CDM (Centro Deportivo Municipal - http://cdmorihuelacosta.es/)
 
Supermarkets: There are a wealth of Supermarkets in the area, from Consum, Mercadona, Lidl and Al Campo, though if you fancy a more traditional market then one is held on a Saturday morning just behind the La Zenia Boulevard, selling fruit, vegetables clothes, shoes, etc.
 
Medical: There are a wealth of chemists in La Zenia, though if you need urgent medical treatment then you can visit the local "Centro de Salud" -  or if you need to visit an Accident and Emergency center, you can visit the main hospital in Torrevieja, 
 
Climate: The Costa Blanca enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, with cool sea breezes in summer and protection by surrounding mountains against the cold north winds in winter. The area averages nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine each year and the average temperature exceeds 20 degrees.
 
In 1986 the World Health Organisation recommended the climate of the areas as one of the most equitable in the world, not too hot in the summer, nor cold in the winter. The area boasts an average of 325 days of sunshine each year, making it an all-year-round destination.
