Villamartin Guide

Villamartin is a residential area located on the Orihuela Costa in the South Costa Blanca, 30 minutes drive from Alicante airport and Corvera airport, it has excellent road links with close access to the AP7 motorway and the national road, N332 which runs from Valencia to Almeria, this is the Spanish equivalent of Route 66.

Golf Courses: Villamartin has its own championship golf course, the frequent venue for the Mediterranean Open as well as being within 10 minutes of the Campoamor golf course, and Las Ramblas. 

Shopping: The Zenia Boulevard, which opened in 2012, is an open-air shopping center with over 150 shops, the link below provides all the information you need on opening times, restaurants, and shops.

In addition in the center of Villamartin, you will find the Villamartin Plaza, which was one of the first leisure areas built on the Orihuela Costa, which is well supported as the place to be seen. The Plaza is family-friendly and has many restaurants and bars.

Beaches : Close to Villamartin there are two sandy beaches in La Zenia, Cala Bosque, and Cala Cerrada as well as the beaches in Playa Flamenca with its two magnificent white sandy beaches, Cala Mosca and Cala Estaca,

Supermarkets: There are a wealth of Supermarkets, Consum, Mercadona, Lidl, and Al Campo, though if you fancy a more traditional market then one is held on a Saturday morning just behind the La Zenia Boulevard, selling fruit, vegetable clothes, shoes, etc.

Education: The El Limonar International School is also located in Villamartin, which is a school for students between the ages of 3 and 18. The school is based on the British curriculum and follows the National Curriculum for England and Wales. The school has been named as one of the top schools in “The best schools in Spain” as rated by El Mundo.

Climate: Costa Blanca enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, with cool sea breezes in summer and protection by surrounding mountains against the cold north winds in winter. The area averages nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine each year and the average temperature exceeds 20 degrees.

In 1986 the World Health Organisation recommended the climate of the areas as one of the most equitable in the world, not too hot in the summer, nor cold in the winter. The area boasts an average of 325 days of sunshine each year, making it an all-year-round destination.
